House owner's son asking us to vacate with in just 3 months

Hello,

I have rented a house in Bangalore and the Owner had made a rental agreement on his name indicating all the terms and it was all fine. 3 months rent was also paid by us to the owner. Suddenly the owner's son had come to our house asking us to pay the rent to him and not to his father. He also insisted us on giving the original rental agreement so that he would change it onto this name. He is claiming that the house is on his name. But we had paid the advance to his father who made the rental agreement with us. We have accepted to change the agreement and pay rent to him as long as he would be responsible for the advance we have paid to his father. But he says, he is not responsible for the advance and we have to deal with the father (with whom agreement is made). After discussing with this father we understood that he had written a will entitling his son as the owner of the house (I am not aware of the process and the rights that the son would get by the will). And the father had asked us not to change anything and keep paying the rent to him without any change and this had come up as there is a conflict between him and his son.

But the son is constantly calling us and asking us to VACATE immediately. We do not know what to do. this son was never in picture when we have rented the house or made the agreement. The similar is the situation with other tenants in the building.

can someone help us how to deal with this?

Many thanks,

Siddhartha S

tell his son don't talk with you regarding this matter , better talk to your father he is the actual owner of The building , if he again disturb you then make a police complaint regarding threatening and house tresspassing against him.

As per your details, the house is still in the name of father.... so there is no necessity to give any importance to his son.... go and file police complaint against him if gives any threats.

If there is will of father still, till the death of father, the son has no any legal right on the said property/house..
