Insuring glass goods

We are manufacturing optics and are regularly importing glass blanks by courier. We have insured the shipments. A number of times the blanks have been damaged as the shipments have been opened in customs for examination and not repacked properly. It is a clear case of negligence by courier.

We have got insurance claim to some extent but now insurance company is refusing to continue renew the policy. Can they do that? What is the alternative?

Is the carrier not responsible at all? After breakage in a recent shipment, the insurance company had put all future shipment declarations on hold and again we had a breakage due to same reasons. Can we claim from carrier?

A)   This is atrocious. It is the duty of custom  authorities to act cousesly if they are not you file writ in court to intervene and direct the authorities to act properly. The high court has got power to issue mandamus to the authorities.

B)   The authorities of Insurence company cannot act in this manner. You just put an complaint to ombudsma.
