Legal Clarification

Sir,

I purchased a plot in the year 2000 in Chennai. My name was then Vinod Kumar V C. I subsequently changed my name to Vinod Kumar C ( numerological name change  ) in the year 2002, which was then published in Government Gazette and in tamil News paper " Thinamalar " and English Daily " Indian Express ". I m going to apply for patta now. Should my name be changed in patta or it can be in the first name as it is in Sale Deed.

Should i make any corrections in the sale deed , when i m going to sell the property or enter into a joint venture with a builder ?

Kindly advice.

Sir,You can change the patta in the new name itself by attaching a copy of the gazette notification.

Now only you are going to apply for patta. So, you can get it in the revised name by furnishing proof for having changed your name. You need not get anxiety as the change of name could be annexed to the documents.
