It depends on the court and on the basis of conduct of the case by parties

The time taken for petitions on restitution of conjugal rights in courts can vary based on several factors, including the specific court, the complexity of the case, and the number of cases pending before the court. However, here are some general guidelines on the time frame for different stages of the process.

  1. Transfer petition: The Supreme court takes around 3-6 months to decide on a transfer petition.
  2. Trial court proceedings: The trial court can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to dispose of a petition for restittuon of conjugal rights.
  3. Appeal : The high court can take around 1-3 years to dispose of an appeal against the order of the trial court.
  4. Supreme court appeal: The supreme court can take around 1-3 years to dispose of an appeal against the order of the high court.
