I recently purchased a royal enfield 1965 model in Ujjain. The road tax paid on it last was in 1991 for one year. hence to obtain an noc and transfer the ownership do i need to pay the tax dues since 1992?
my question is would i get any tax rebate or remission on it or do i need to pay the whole dues along with interest and penalty on it? this would mean an additional burden of about Rs.15000.
the government gives remission on dues even on property and income tax. is there any such provision for road tax on old motorcycles specially when a new owner wants to acquire it?
Please throw some light on it. any help would be highly solicited.
