Settlement on wife's death

Dear Team,

I need your guidance on how to proceed with a family dispute wherein the scenario is this:

"On  wife's death during child birth the husband is demanding the funds from her parents who are nominees to the following amounts LIC, Company Gratuity etc. The wife had nmed her parents as nominees instead of husband.

But the child was delivered (newly born girl child) and is under the care of her father. The father is now demanding the amounts claiming legal heir status" ...in such a scenario our fears are the following:

1) The girls parents actually do not need the money for personal use, but rather want to give it to the child when she will be a major (21 years)

2) Father of the girl is demanding all the money immediately and also is planning for a re-marrige at same time.

3) Our fear is that the child may not be taken care after re-marriage.

Please suggest what is the best option keeping the child and her future in mind?

Regards,

Concerned family member
