Vakalath

Urgent Advice needed.My mother is paralysed and bed ridden from last 2 years along with us.A civil petition has been filed in the court against my my mother.As we are waiting for the notices to be served upon us.Now without our knowledge nor permission an advocate has filed vakalath and as respondent advocate on my mother behalf in the court.How it is possible? What are the steps to be taken to tackle this?

Power of attorney or Vakalat can be signed by the party or their agent, and this is inserted in almost all the High Courts; Rule in the country. An Advocate acting without instructions is guilty of professional misconduct  and can be punished by the Bar Cpuncil.
