Judicial appointments

All said and done and without making reference to any matter pending in   courts as a person from legal fraternity wishes to say something about who is an eminent person.

The word Eminence is a noun. The dictionary meaning of the word is the quality of being famous and respected, especially in PROFESSION-a man of particular eminence. The word Eminent is an adjective. It means eminently suitable for a job.

Now eminent person with reference to a suitable person what does it mean for National Judicial Appointment Commission?

Merely a person is eminent will not suffice to be appointed as member of committee to be formed for selection of judges to high courts and the Supreme Court. It is the selection of judges to these courts and not an ordinary job. Constitution of the nation is the health of   nation    He should be eminent in the field of judiciary and not otherwise.  We have series of eminent persons in India. But so far as regards nominating any   2 eminent persons (Tom, Dick or Harry) from society is concerned it is not the aim and object of the law enacted and amendment made in the Constitution. This is because no one is free from his own shadow   that who so ever he may be when he will consider names of persons proposed for judgeship he will have no personal knowledge about them but will just be hearsay. Police verification, IB verification and other verifications are being done by government

Therefore the basic concept of eminent persons is inherently wrong. What is required is correction and upgrading the Collegium System. No other system may solve the purpose unless there is involvement of eminent persons from judicial field. Are not eminent jurists in judiciary why outsider eminent persons? Those who have spend their life for parting justice how can they be bias for taking decision in respect of appointment of judges. Inherent concept of eminent persons is wrong.
