Adv. Roma Bhagat has worked for 34 years as a legal professional in various areas of civil and criminal law including Intellectual Property, Customs, Excise, FERA, Service law, Co-operative Societies and Arbitration.
As a lawyer she has appeared in Courts ranging from District level to Supreme Court, Consumer Forums up to the National Commission, Registrar Trademarks, Patents Office, Copyrights Board, Central Administrative Tribunal, Registrar of Co-operative Societies and the Delhi Co-operative Tribunal as well as the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Excise and Gold Control Appellate tribunal.
Ms. Bhagat has done arbitration work both as an arbitrator and counsel in matters including, inter alia, work contracts and international contracts. Apart from this, Ms. Bhagat has had a large chamber practice in documentations, contracts, opinions and legal consultation on titles in real estate, family and inheritance laws. The clients handled independently include individuals, corporates and institutions.
During the course of her work, Ms. Roma has appeared in a large number of High Courts all over India including Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, Himachal, U.P., Bihar, Karnataka, W. Bengal, Andhra Pradesh as well as District Courts in Rajasthan, Haryana, U.P., Punjab, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir.
One of Ms. Roma's core strengths has been extensive work in real estate all over the country particularly related to revenue law as well as drafting of pleadings. An interesting facet of this area of work has been drafting of contracts as well as pleadings for NRIs within the legal framework and applicability of the local laws of country of immigration.
As part of her chamber work, she has been legal advisor to many public sector and private limited companies. This has included handling litigation apart from giving opinions on a wide variety of areas, as well as drafting of all types of contracts including contracts of service.
