YOU SHOULD BE A PRACTICING ADVOCATE AT THE SUPREMECOURT OF INDIA FOR AT LEAST 7 YEARS AND SHOULD HAVE UNDERGONE TRAINING UNDER AN ADVOCATE ON RECORD FOR 1 YEAR ,WHO INTURN SHALL ISSUE A CERTIFICATE IN THAT RESPECT .ON FULFULLING THESE CONDITIONS YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO APPER IN EXAMINATION CONDUCTED FOR ADVOCATE ON RECORD .AND IF U COMPETE THE COMPETITION THEN YOU WILL BE ENROLLED AS AN ADVOCATE ON RECORD IN THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA

Is it true that one need to practice in SC for 7 years. I was told it is 4 years standing at the Bar ( not necessarily at SC).

moved to supreme court bar libraray and check out the rule and reg. for advocate of record. that fit for u.

Yes it is right that you need to work under an advocate on record for 1 year

Dear Promod kumar,
One has must have 5 years of standing practice in the supreme Court or 4 years of standing practice in any court and 1 year under an andocate on record. So that he is eligible for sit in the examination conducted by the Supreme Court for advocate on record. it consists of 5 papers.
