Advocates act

Can anyone cite any SC/Bar Council decision wherein any advocate has been punished for indulging in other business/vocation?

@Querist,

An adocate, if engaged, in other Business which is not considered immoral and gross misconduct,cannot be brought under any criminal proceedings. However, displinary action can be taken that includes an order to surrender his/her membership to the bar.

A case law regarding the conflict of being a full time employee and practising advocacy at the same time is given below.

SATISH KUMAR SHARMA
Vs.
RESPONDENT:
THE BAR COUNCIL OF HIMACHAL PRADESH

The link is given below for the details of the case. you can find it on superemecourt official site too.

Hope that may be of any help

Thanks,
