Beneficiaries rights to view will

Hello,

I hope someone can help me with a few questions that I have. I have a friend who lives in the United States and his father, whom lived in India, recently passed away. His father passed away leaving a will, but the son would like to know if he has the right to view the will. Being that the son has not seen the will, he cannot verify if he is a beneficiary or not. But does he have the ability to see the entire will, even if he is not named, to see if there is any reason to contest? His father also did not live in the areas of India that require probate. Also, if his father owned property in the U.S. when he passed, does that change anything? The son is also a U.S. citizen, does this make any difference in regards to the will? What is a reasonable amount of time to distribute assets, and the amount of time to contest prior to the distribution? Thanks very much for your help in this matter.

Thanks Akash. Do mean that the son specifically has the right to view the will?

Making a Will is not as simple as it may first appear. Like most things in life the hardest part is finding time to stop and take time out from your the daily life routine. The best way to start is to spend several minutes on the bus or in the bath to consider the serious ramifications of not leaving formal directions to your partner or children.
