Hello sir,

There are some offences which are compoundable without the permission of the court and then there are some offences which require prior permission of the court for compounding.

Section 323 of IPC (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) is compoundable by the person to whom the hurt is caused and does not require permission of the court for compounding.

Hello,

As per section 323, Whoever, except in the case provided for by section 334, voluntarily causes hurt, shall be punished with imprisonment of either descripttion for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

This offence is compoundable by the person who is harmed.

Thank you
