@Utpala

There is no need for physical presence of groom for fixing a date at registration office. The bride herself can visit and take dates. And make sure that bride and groom reach office early in morning or on the time fixed. It'll be done in a day alone.

No this is not the procedure. Both of you with witnesses has to be present while submitting applications than after scrutiny there will be public notice for one month. Only after its expiry the marriage will be registered.

Time for the registration of marriage is generally one year and after that also the marriage can be registered but with the permission from the higher authorities and you can also register the marriage after one month it will not nullify the registration

simple method is to get the marriage registered under Section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.  After marriage is solemnized as per hindu rituals, the bride and bridegroom can approach the Marriage Officer under the Act (For every district one officer is designated) and file an application along with supporting documents, i.e, marriage invitation card, photographs showing important rituals, ration card for residential proof and three witnesses.  The marriage will be registered and registration certificate be issued.  This certificate is under Hindu marriage Act.

There is another method.  Both boy and girl can approach the Arya Samaj Mandir and they after taking prescribed fee solemnize the marriage and issue certificate.

finally, the registration under Special Marriage Act (SMA).  For that the boy (as he is in foreign land and cannot come immediately) has to fill up the prescribed application under SMA and sign it and get it attested by the designated officer of the Indian embassy of that country and also fill up affidavit as prescribed under the Act and get it attested by the designated officer of the embassy.  similarly, he has to give power of attorney duly attested by embassy official to one of his relatives for the specific purpose submit his application before the marriage officer under SMA.  All these documents he has to send.  The girl and power of attorney can file the application in which boy's signature is already attested.  One month after filing of this application along with supporting documents, the marriage will be registered and the certificate be issued. The filing of application can be adjusted according to the boy's travel programme.  For details of documents to be submitted and the prescribed application under SMA, please visit, Delhi Govt. web site and you get fair idea.

in the case of registration under Section 8 of the HMA (para 1 above), the certificate will be issued on the very day or on the next day of filing of the application.  No need to wait for one month.
