Esi for teachers

I am a teacher working in a private unaided school. Now-a-days I am hearing the ESI is compulsory for the teachers also. As I am in need of some medical assistance, I have enquired with the management. But they say the ESI applies to labours and as per rule the teachers are not labours. And also says that there is a stay on introducing ESI at educational institutions. Is there any stay regarding. Kind guidelines solicited.

You may also explore the prespective like affordable health insurance from Bank tie up like PNB, OBC ( for its a/c holders) with OICL.................It may cost say; Rs.6500/pa for a cap of Rs.5lakh...

Ask in nearest Bank branch...
