Sir/Madam,
I'm not from legal background, but am curious to get answer to following question. Though I tried discussing with multiple people, couldn't get satisfying answer and hence thought of posting it here, as this is more related to legal issue:
Many of the political parties in India provide promises on free distribution of various things during their election campaign and once they win, they may do so in some or other way.
As the money they spend belongs to public, what right they've in distributing it just for supporting them to come into power?
e.g. ditributing free electricity/ TVs etc, offerings to god etc.
Is there no provision in law, which can restrain such misuse of public money by politicians for their personal agenda?
BR,
Venu
