HINDU SUCCESSION ACT OF 2005

From which date did this act come into effect?

Was it notified in Gazette?

Is it in force today?

The Hindu Succession Act came in force in 1956. In 2005 there was an amendment to the existing HSA. By the said amendment the daughter became a coparcener in the Hindu coparcenary property with rights equal to those of sons. Yes, the amendment is in force today.

It was enforced with effect from 27.11.2005 through a specific notification and it is in force now.
