Please see that whether your appointment letter or contract letter contains any provision for specific performance or payment of compensation for dishonouring the contract or not. In case the provision speaks about both then you might get into legal trouble.
Apart please seek some personal advice from any Advocate privately as may this problem will be dealt more efficiently with strategy rather than any legal recourse.
