Law of Legitim in Pondicherry

Law of Legitim[french laws] speaks about the absolute ownership of the Hindu male and Female. Male decendents will get share from father's property and female from mother. This right originates  after the demise of father or mother and he/she can claim within 30 years from the date of death of those persons.

Similiar doctrine is available in Goa, Diu and Daman-[portugese laws]. People who are practising in Bombay High Court

Please let me know about the Supreme Court's Position of the Extention of Hindu Succession Act in the Puducherry by the Pondicherry Administrative Act.

The customary hindu law [Law of Legitim] is applicable even now to those persons whose property is in dispute purchased/owned/inherited prior to 1961.
