I got married on 22 nov2011 in buldana (Maharhashtra)in my husband home town according to hindu rituals.
We got now shifted kochi kerela and we want to register our marrige here only i have gas connection and bsnl telephone bill by my husband name in kochi as an address proof. I have address proof of my home town ie kanpur (UP)
Plz tell me can i get my registerd over here or we should apply for court marrige?
Any lawyers in kochi can plz contact us too ?

Dr. aparna Sec. 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act. 1955 clarify that whan a marriage come in to existence it shoud be registed. and it should be registered where the couple resides or where marriage has been taken place.
jurisdiction with regard to the marrige registration becomes in your case is buldana (Maharhashtra) as well as where you r going to reside in kochi.
