I tried to avail of a home loan from Godrej Properties in 2024 and they asked me to pay Rs.43007 to a vendor "COMPLETE PROPERTY SOLUTION." for legal, stamp duty,(MOE 0.3% i.e. 23970/-) and registration(15000). I had to cancel the loan procurement from Godrej because of some issues and the loan was canceled. I was asked to apply for a refund from the Inspector General of Registration, Pune for stamp duty and registration paid. I did the same and used for the same on 21-05-2024. Today when I went to enquire about the refund to the department they shared with me the copy of the MTR challan dated 27-04-2024 which has been stamped as Defaced (38457/-) and Refund Claimed (38225/-) and told me the refund was rejected because of the Defamed status and can only happen when Defamed is removed.
One thing to highlight here I submitted the documents manually for refund to the department on 21-05-24 and the date on the MTR challan where the deface is stamped is 27-04-24.
They asked me to get this corrected in 15 days else they will close my file. I am not sure what all of this means and I will get the refund back or not.
