My lawyers wants to reopen divorce case.

Op case (divorce on grounds of harassment on me by my wife) filed filed in 2014. It was dismissed and disposed without granting divorce in 2015. I was silent for about an year without any fear because cash settlement was done in presence of court lokadalat. As i thought that she got what she wants and she doesnt have any chance to file 498a etc to harass me, as i have paid lakhs of rupees to get rid of that headache. But as previous judge did not grant divorce my lawyer currently wants to reopen the same OP case to grant exparte divorce on grounds of cruelty. He is asking me to visit court each and everytime though i have given vakalat and permission to procede on behalf of me. Iam unable to inderstand. Is it necessary to attend each and everytime for exparte type of divorce case? What happens if i do not attend the court. If i dont attend for case then court will give decision for divorce? Thank you. Plz guide me. Ps: lawyer is common for my side and her side.
