No time clause in lease deed

Hi I was just looking for a bit of legal advice. We have a rented a building in mysore around 7 years back. The lease agreement does not state any duration for the lease period. There is however a rent escalation cause which has been adhered to for the last seven years. A couple of days out of the blue we get a notice saying that the tenancy period is over and asks us to vacate the premises. I was just wondering as to what options we had ? We are anyways gonna try to negotiate a newer rent but what if the owner insists on vacating the building. Your help would be appreciated. Regards Rahul
