Question regarding jurisdiction of a will

Dear Esteemed Members:

I was reading an article regarding probating a will and came across the following : "after the commencement of the Indian Succession (Amendment) Act 1962 where such will are made within the local limits of the ordinary civil jurisdiction of the High Courts of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay and where such wills are made outside those limits, in so far as they relate to immoveable property situate within those limits."

I have not understood the following term "local limits of the ordinary civil jurisdiction of the High Courts of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay" Does Navi Mumbai fall under the "local limits of the ordinary civil jurisdiction" of the High court of Mumbai? What is local limits? does it signify the island of Mumbai alone or its peripheral areas like Navi Mumbai?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

Dave

These are presidential towns and it is mandatory to probate the will.

Thank you Kumar Doab for your reply. I understand these are presedential towns. I am specifically concerned with the satellite city of Navi Mumbai whether it falls under the jurisdiction of the Bombay high court?
