We are in the urgency of finding a house while shifting to the current house. And the last of our change we got this current house lead which is an independent house and the owner contacted me over whatsapp that he lives in US and he said he wants to give his house for rent for good working professionals family and all being adults. He said since we are eligible, he asked us to visit the house. and we liked the house and went forward with rent discussions and agreed to the whole amount what he said and he did not even opened for negotiation, he did not even discounted 500 at that time and he ordered us to pay the rent by 5th of every month and also said his relative would come and assist in for any repairs in the house since he is in abroad. But from the day-1 we only did ourselves if any repair used to come, he used to just reimburse but that too after so much discussion like why it is required or why it is not working ? or why the technician is telling that much ? He used to do harassment like a hell to us even that time and used to ask pictures, bills, e.t,.c., we used to spend a whole day for those kind of repairs since it is a 12 year old house. This owner also has a bad reputation in the colony even and they used to tell us they will torture us for sure. On some day, he used to even call to show the whole house over a video call. But we are patiently holding this up, since we have to live somewhere because we do not have any other house to live and we used to transfer him rent on the 1st of every month itself with no fault from my side. But now he has started a new drama of say that he is selling his house and before informing us only, he informed the real estate brokers regarding the same and they started showing the house to buyers all over the day and then when we asked him, then he said he was selling but he assured he will inform us everytime while they are coming and only during weekends. But, now everyone is coming to seeing the house, some people are even taking videos while we are staying inside saying owner asked to take. and brokers are continuously visiting the house with their house everyday with no proper intimation even when only my mother is staying and we are facing a severe problem with privacy and security where my owner did not even discussed about this selling matter during our initial discussions even. and even he is asking the rent within the stipulated time during this time even. I am in dilemma whether the owners can do like this and show to buyers while tenants are staying. I wanted to know from where I can proceed legally on this ?
