Responsibility after resignation

being in private sector ,my friend has changed many jobs and is in a different location. however he keeps on getting notices at his permanent residential address  from courts on complaints of some customers regarding issues with one of the company he left long back . what does he submit to the court which ensures removal of his name from the case ?

the company which he laft has not give n any letter of acceptance of resignation or cessation of employment except that they do not keep you on salary roll. Many of these companies donot believe in paper work. the employee just stops working next day on wards. How to submit this to the court to 'save court's time' and also 'individuals time' as the location of his job has also  changed?

submit releiving certificate of that company or submit present company statement of joining date to till today so that it will clear that you are working in ----- company and left the aforesaid

he is not working for anyone but just doing some little business of his own after a sort of self retirement from the last company  related to which  notices are coming even after 2 to 3 years

he should make a submission to the court that the company on whose behalf the notices are coming, he is not on their pay roll any more . also there was no service conditions given by the comapny alongwith the appointment letter. and you had left the company and no more in their employment and doing your own part time business during the retirement.
