Validity of a white paper adoption deed

Through vedic procedure, I had adopted a girl child on 18 December 2016. At that time, she was 12 years of age. During the ceremony, me and my wife along with girls' biological parents and grand parents were present. After completion of the Puja, the adoption was stated on a white paper and duly signed by all.

Now we wish to get our names to replace her biological parents names from all legal records. Can the same white paper consent from both parents worthy for registration as adoption deed.

Kindly suggest the best possible way out.

Regards,
Upneet

As per law certain rituals and execution of adoption deed, ceremony of give and take etc. are necessary. Get the adoption deed which is now on plain papers be registered and thereafter a proper publ;ication is to be made. There is set procedure for name change for which you can consult a lawyer.

Thank you. Would you kindly also inform whether the registration is carried out at a court or in some Registrar Office.
