Verifying the document

Namaste!

I am a person of Indian origin living in Canada. An employee of our Canadian company claimed that he received medical treatment in India six months ago and he produced a letter from a private Indian hospital confirming his treatment. His passport and other documents also prove that he was in India at that time. A month ago, when our company tried to investigate this matter, we were unable to contact that hospital in India. When we asked our employee, he stated that probably that hospital is now closed. A week ago, we sent a person to India to verify this matter and the owner of the property (that is listed as that hospital’s address) confirmed that he rented his building to that hospital but now the hospital is out of business and that he is using that building for another purpose.

How to verify that the hospital was existing until six months ago in India at that address?  How to verify our employee’s claim?

apply for information through R.T.I. to the registrar office. Generally the rental agreement must have been registered with the registrar office.

Would suggest you contact the chief district medical officer instead. He/she should be able to inform you of any hospital functioning within the district.

Namaste and thanks for your valuable response.

What is the rental agreement was by word of muth or if it was not registered with the registrar office?

Similalrly, does the  chief district medical officer keeps the old records of the hospitals?

If there were no rental agreement and no information found from the chief district medical officer then is it enough to tell a court in Canada saying that the employee provided false information about the hospital?
