Northern Queen - I agree with your thoughts. But the point is - how to expose such women who do not have their own self respect left in them. Their character is such that it can be bought by spending some money. 

In a way these 498a women are like prostitutes who ask for money after entering bedroom.  Honorable supreme court coined it as "Legal Terrorism", I would call it "Legal Prostitution". 

Unless these women are not sent to jail and being barred to get married again, they will not stop selling themselves.

I hope one day this act will be amended (although i'm sure the women's lobbyists group will try their utmost to make it even worse for men).

I have witnessed first hand how a good friend of mine has been put through hell because of a vengeful troll.  It has opened my eyes and i would strongly advise any man to self protect themselves with a pre nupt - or collecting any signed documents, receipts, making an inventory of gifts and taking photos of them.  I would even tell them to get tax returns on the relatives (to prove they did not have enough savings) before committing themselves to marriage.

Divorce has always been big business and those in the trade rub shoulders (and line the pockets with the corrupt Police and even more corrupt Judges - who are pro women anyway.

My advice is you won't stop these trolls from filing false FIR's - but you can encourage men to nip it in the bud right at the beginning - before they marry - get a pre nupt!

And I think thats what our Indian politicians ever wanted. Make everything a business. But I differ here with you .... I think true love it had to be with you will be with you. 

I still see good woman around me in my family who have respected marital knot. One thing I learned that a Criminal minded woman is the most stupid criminal on this earth. they will give you ample chances to collect evidences against them.

I cant say if bringing in any legal contract would make married life any good.  

498a_Fighter - it's a sad world that we live in now - the innocent wives are now suffering because of these trolls.  True love is wonderful if you are fortunate to find it - but how many of these poor fellows believed this when they married these women.  Maybe they were young and sweet at the beginning - but watching their friends collect the jackpot after a marital dispute has firmly planted criminally ideas in their pretty little heads.

Sometimes their are 'third parties' who involved too - like the secret boyfriend or the gangster relative - or even bent politicians such as this Lollipop's family.  They all want a piece of your soul.

I'm not against the sanctity of marriage - and i am a true romantic - my culture allows me to make my own informed choices regarding marriage, work and having a voice.  I just think marriage and divorce has become 'business with benefits' and if men (and women) don't protect themselves at the beginning - then they could be setting themselves up for a lot of heartache and mental torture in the future.

Women like you Lollipop should never get married - you are the reason these men have to protect themselves.

And the reality is that they loose their husband permanently and then they keeps on paying to lawyers for Tarikh par Tarikh and when they turn 35, then they get to know what they have earned and what they have lost. Well, some of them still think after 35 that they did right and then again marry and then they do this with their 2nd husband and then they are tageed as 498a women .

@queriest - people who sell their souls for money pay the price eventually - usually bad deeds come back on you recieve double the amount of pain caused to innocent victims.  If you pursue this false case - then you not only risk a jail sentence if you are caught lying (and i hope your husband does charge you) you also risk losing respect from others - and i assure you, word will spread like wild fire that you are a 498a wife.

As far as your Advocate and all the other dirty, money grabbing scumbags on your payroll are concerned - they wll have their comeuppance too.  Oh and the reason your Advocate hasn't commented on this post is because he is keeping his head low for fear of being exposed as a low life dog, who practises law illegally - it might affect his 'business' if he is seen as a liar and thief.

Kumar Sir, here I would like to defend this Charater Less 498a woman. See it all depends on understanding. Its ok. I think there is no need to bring this point. I support her if she wanna support her family.
