Symbiosis Law School, Pune is organizing “BIODIVERSITY MEET- 2013”, on 30thMarch, 2013 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Symbiosis, Vishwabhavan Auditorium, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune.
The meet with “Green Revolution and Gene Revolution” as the theme will see the experts sharing their knowledge on various issues like Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering and its legal regulation.
Dr. Vandana Shiva, Founder- Navdanya and the Research Foundation for Science, Technology & Ecology and winner of Right to Livelihood Award, has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.
The other speakers are Dr. Chittranjan Bhatia, Former Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and Adv. Yeshwanth Shenoy, Legal Advisor to Various Regulatory Authorities of Government of India. The meet is designed to cover practical aspects of Green Revolution and Gene Revolution. The program will encompass case studies and interactive question and answer sessions.
Dr. Shiva, Dr. Bhatia and Adv. Shenoy will be speaking on “Green Revolution & Gene Revolution”, “Scientific Perspectives of Biotechnology Revolution” and “Disputes & their Resolution with reference to Biotech Revolution” respectively.
Padma Bhushan Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU and Dr. Shashikala Gurpur Fulbright Scholar, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Dean, Faculty of Law, SIU shall also be gracing the occasion.
