UNIFIED PUBLIC HEALTH ACT : Kerala Thiruvananthapuram, Monday,2 March 2009 : Kerala Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy told the state Assembly Monday that the government was seriously considering to bring in an Unified Public Health Act. In a written reply to T.P. Kunjunni, she said the work for the Act had been started from 2003. The government had deputed an expert committee, which prepared a draft Act after receiving suggestions from various sectors in this regard. Sreemathy said a task force had been constituted for evaluating the import of the Act after its implementation. Besides this, a committee in which Health Minster as its Chairman, was examining the draft report, she added.
