Anjali Waghmare to continue as Kasab's lawyer Anjali Waghmare, the advocate appointed by Maharashtra government to defend accused Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab, told a Special court that she will continue as the lawyer for Kasab. When asked by the court on her decision whether to continue as the accuseds lawyer, Ms Waghmare told Special Court Judge M L Tahiliyani, who is presiding over the trial of 26/11 terrorist attack case, that she would defend the accused. The advocate from the Legal Aid Panel was appointed as Kasabs defense lawyer on Monday last, however, she had sought a days time yesterday to decide whether to continue as a lawyer for the terrorist after her house was attacked by Shiv Sena activists on Monday night. Ms Waghmare told media persons that she would defend the terrorist and that the court has directed the state government to provide adequate security to her in wake of the attacks. I was under pressure whether to defend Kasab but now I have decided to obey the courts order. I am able to do this with the support of my husband and family, she said. Meanwhile, the Worli police will file a report on April 6 on the incident of attack on Ms Waghmare. All the nine people, arrested for attacking on the house of Ms Waghmare, has been sent to judicial custody till April 15 by the Metropolitan Magistrate court at Bhoiwada. UNI
