A Delhi court on Friday reserved its order on the bail plea of Sukhdev Pehalwan, one of the accused in Nitish Katara murder case, who said he wants to take part in the wedding of his nephew. Additional Sessions Judge JR Aryan is likely to pronounce its order on Saturday after the counsel for the accused and special public prosecutor B S Joon wrapped up their arguments on the bail application. Opposing the bail plea of Pehalwan, the prosecutor said the same accused had absconded after the commission of the offence in 2002 and the trial against him was separated from that of Vikas and Vishal Yadav, convicted for the murder of Nitish, because of this reason. "The plea that the elder brother, whose son is getting married, was ill was not sustainable as it was he who has been pursuing the case," Joon said, adding that the accused, if granted bail, may flee from the judicial custody. The prosecutor also cited the example of Vikas Yadav saying he was granted custody parole for 10 hours by the Delhi High Court for attending the marriage of his sister Bharti Yadav here recently. Earlier, Pehalwan's counsel said his nephew is getting married on November 19 and the family is in dire need of a responsible person to overlook and supervise all arrangements as his elder brother was not keeping well. Pehalwan, along with Vikas and Vishal, allegedly killed Nitish on the intervening night of February 16/17, 2002.
