Court orders release of 42 undertrials

NEW DELHI: Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of New Delhi Ajay Pande presided over a special sitting of the Patiala House Courts here on Wednesday. The court took up 46 cases and ordered release of 42 undertrials.

Union Law and Justice Minister Veerappa Moily and Delhi Legal Services Authority executive chairman Justice Madan B. Lokur watched the proceedings for a while.

The exercise was in pursuance of the National Mission for Delivery of Justice and Legal Reforms to Undertrials Prisoners initiated by the Ministry.
