A bilateral agreement on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cooperation between India and Singapore will be signed soon, Kamal Nath, India's union minister of commerce and industry said. During his bilateral meeting with Lim Hng Kiang, minister for trade and industry of Singapore, Nath said there was 'considerable progress' was made over the ASEAN-India free trade agreement at the last meeting in Bali in Indonesia. In a government release, Nath said Singapore was India's fifth-largest merchandise trading partner and fourth-largest merchandise export market and that India's exports to Singapore grew by 16 percent in the 2007-08. Singapore ranks fourth in terms of foreign direct investment in India during the period 1991-2008 with investments of $4.7 billion. By Ms.Bobby Aanand, Metropolitan Jury.
