The Supreme Courthas fixed November for the final disposal of all the petitions challenging the order of the Cauvery Waters Dispute Tribunal delivered in 2007. Three states - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala - are locking horns with one another for getting the maximum share of the Cauvery waters for themselves. The Tribunal had awarded more share of the waters to Tamil Nadu, which was strongly opposed by Karnataka and Kerala. The two states filed the petitions in the apex court against the award of the Tribunal. Later, Tamil Nadu also filed a petition against Karnataka and Kerala. All the three petitions will now be finally disposed off by the apex court in November this year. A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam also directed the parties to complete their pleas and file additional documents, if any, before the next date of hearing.
