SC to hand over GPF case to CBI

The CBI is all set to take over the investigation of Rs 7 crore Ghaziabd District Court GPF scam, in which 36 judges, including a sitting Supreme Court judge and eleven High Court judges are facing allegations of being beneficiaries of the scam. The Centre had informed the Supreme Court on September 18 that CBI is prepared to investigate the scam. Uttar Pradesh government has already given its consent for a CBI probe into the scandal. A bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat is to pass formal orders for handing over the investigations of the case to CBI.
