UK chef gets 30-yr jail for cooking gay lover Tuesday, 21 October , 2008, 14:41 Last Updated: Tuesday, 21 October , 2008, 15:46 London: A chef, who was the former winner of Mr Gay UK, has been jailed for a minimum of 30 years for killing his boyfriend and then cooking a section of his flesh. Chef Anthony Morley was sentenced for slaying boyfriend Damian Oldfield whose body he had chopped and seasoned it with fresh herbs before frying the flesh in olive oil. Six pieces of human flesh, including parts of Oldfield’s thigh, were found on a chopping board in Morley''s kitchen. The incident that took place in April this year saw the Judge James Stewart at Leeds Crown Court narrating it as ‘one of the most gruesome murders’ ever. “Not only did you murder your victim by cutting his throat and stabbing him but you cut him up, cooked him and ate part of him,” TimesOnline quoted him as telling Morley. “Before this case I had associated cannibalism with eras long gone, with the tale of Robinson Crusoe. No longer. You have plumbed depths rarely encountered in our court,” he added. The 36-year-old, who had won the title in 1993, had slit Oldfield’s throat before inflicting multiple stab wounds and cutting parts of flesh from his body. The ex-Mr Gay UK, had earlier denied the charge claiming that he had been provoked into murdering his partner after he woke up to see Oldfield abusing him sexually. Morley later added that he had killed Oldfield in fear of being raped - an incident that had taken place in his childhood, the flashback of which let him to commit the crime. Sify
