A law Intern and a Sub Inspector of Police were convicted by a Delhi Court for charges of corruption. The intern was accused of accepting a bribe on behalf of Assistant Sub Inspector.

The single CBI bench of Justice Anju Bajaj Chandna heard the contentions of the accused and complainant. The intern contended that the amount was for legal fees of Advocate for bail application. However, the Court observed that he was only a law intern and did not have a license to practice. He could not have filed the bail application. Furthermore, the bail application was already pending that was filed by another counsel on behalf of the complainant.  The court held them guilty for acceptance of illegal gratification under Section 7 and Section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Court convicted ASI and the law intern for rigorous imprisonment for four years. The ASI was further convicted of three years imprisonment under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
