Bombay HC Directs Mah Govt To File Its Say on New Nanded Revenue Division 1/16/2009 The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court directed the State Government to file its say in the court over petitions, challenging Government’s decision to create new divisional commissionerate at Nanded, by January 21. Two writ petitions were filed in the High Court bench comprising Justice P V Hardas and Justice P R Borkar against the January five decision of Government to create new revenue division in Nanded, bifurcating from Aurangabad divisional commissionerate. The first writ petition was filed by advocate Samad Razza Patel and advocate Uday Govindrao Gaware (both from Latur) through advocate Vinayak Hon, while a legislator from Parbhani Suresh Deshmukh challenged the decision of the government through veteran lawyer P M Shah and advocate Santosh Dhote. The petitioners requested the court that the decision of new revenue division taken on January 5 should not be implemented and interim stay should be granted on the decision till the petitions are pending with the court. During the hearing, Maharashtra Advocate General Ravi Kadam who was present in the court, stated that both the petitions are premature and the further process of the Government to bifurcate the current commissionerate will be done as per the laws. ‘Those petitions should have been filed after the Government issues notification and this is not the right stage to file petition or object to the decision,’ he said. Three intervention applications, including one by Nanded Mayor Balwantsingh Gadiwale, were filed in the court. Hearing on these three intervention applications will be held on January 17. UNI
