SC Moved Over Goa Govt Giving Cabinet Status To Three MLAs 24 Jan 2009, 1748 hrs IST, PTI Text: PANAJI: Social activist Aires Rodrigues has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court praying that no appeal of Goa government, challenging High Court order on the appointment of parliamentary secretaries, be entertained without hearing him (Rodrigues). The Goa Bench of Bombay High court had recently set aside appointments of parliamentary secretaries in Digamber Kamat-led government. The appointments of NCP legislator Nilkant Halankar and Congress legislator Fransic Silveira were set aside by the high court bench terming it as 'unconstitutional.' The order was the fallout of the petition filed by Rodrigues. The Bench, however, had refused to set aside the cabinet status to Economic Development Corporation Chairman Agnelo Fernandes, Deputy Chairman of Goa Planning Board Dr Wilfred de Souza and NRI Commissioner Eduardo Faleiro. Talking to PTI Rodrigues said that he will move the Supreme Court against the High Court's order which refused to set aside the cabinet status bestowed to these three representatives.
