Fri, Apr 11 12:55 AM TWO MOTORCYCLE-BORNE youth snatched a bag from a French national after dragging her along a 10 feet stretch on Mall Road here on Wednesday evening. The victim, Tiphaine Angioletti, who suffered serious head injuries, was given five stitches. Tiphaine and her husband Robert were coming from the Golden Temple in a rickshaw, when the youth made an unsuccessful attempt to snatch the bag tied to her waist. "Then they pulled her out of the rickshaw and dragged her till they managed to lay their hands on the bag," said Robert. The bag contained US $250, Euro 40, a mobile phone and some credit cards. The police took the couple to a hospital after onlookers informed them about the incident. A case has been registered at the Civil Lines police station. Robert, an engineer working for an Indo-French energy conservation project, has decided to call off their visit to Dharamsala and return home. Three months back, a similar attempt at Lawrence Road had led to the death of an NRI.
