Journalists reporting the Delhi High Court proceedings now have a place to sit and relax in the court’s vicinity. On the orders of the Court Registrar (Administration) A K Mahajan, seating arrangements for the media covering court proceedings have been made near gate number seven of the court building. They had long been demanding a room in the fully air conditioned building of the Delhi High court. Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan had recently assured a delegation of journalists that he would look into their demand when they drew his attention towards the difficulty being faced by them in not having any place in the High Court and lower courts to sit and work. While the Supreme Court has provided two media rooms, the High Court and other lower courts (five) in Delhi, have no such provision for the journalists.
