ADVOCATES MOVE RESOLUTION AGAINST CJ
In an unprecedented step, the Advocates Association of Bangalore (AAB) on Thursday passed a resolution calling upon Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court P.D. Dinakaran to refrain from attending any judicial function until his name was cleared of the allegations levelled against him.
The association called an emergency general body meeting to discuss a report that appeared in NEWS PAPERS on Wednesday. The report said that Justice Dinakaran was summoned to Delhi by Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan, after he received a letter from a group of eminent advocates, including Fali S. Nariman and Shanti Bhushan, alleging that Justice Dinakaran had acquired illegal assets in Tamil Nadu. The letter had asked the judges of the Supreme Court to stop Justice Dinakaran’s elevation to the Supreme Court.
