Government of India today approved the introduction of a new single, comprehensive law to govern the Indian corporate sector. The Bill is expected to be tabled in Parliament during the upcoming October session. As per PIB Press Release, The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for introduction of the Companies Bill, 2008 in the Parliament to replace the Companies Act, 1956, the existing statute for regulation of companies in the country and considered to be in need of comprehensive revision in view of the changing economic and commercial environment nationally as well as internationally.
