Telecom commission, the highest decision making body in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), will meet on November 28 to discuss the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommendations on spectrum pricing and management. The recommendations also cover mergers and acquisitions.
The meeting is expected to be stormy as the decision taken in the meeting will have significant financial impact on the telecom service providers.
TRAI has proposed delinking licences and spectrum. TRAI recommendations say that the licences could be given on payment of a one-time fee, while spectrum should be allotted only at market prices.
