SIT had recorded the statement of these two persons in the last week of December 2008. Both Patel and Kodnani were summoned as many witnesses had named them in their statements in the Naroda Gam riot case as per the initial charge sheet filed in the case in 2002. The SIT has filed a 300-page supplementary charge sheet against 24 people in the Naroda Gam case, where 11 people belonging to the minority community were killed by a mob during the riots.
