Gujarat HC Judge Transferred To Jharkhand HC 21 Jan 2009, 0010 hrs IST, TNN Ahmedabad : Gujarat high court judge, D N Patel was transferred to Jharkhand high court on Tuesday by the Supreme Court. With his transfer, the strength has been reduced to 29 against the sanctioned 42 judges for this court. "A notification in regard with Justice Patel's transfer was received today evening, and the judge has to take charge of the office at Ranchi on or before February 4," the high court registrar general P P Bhatt said. Justice Patel, 49, started his practice in 1984, and became an assistant government pleader in 1991. He took charge of the government pleader's office in 1999 and in 2001, he became the senior central government standing counsel. He was also on panel of various institutions like GPSC, AUDA, Provident Fund Commissioner etc. Patel was elevated as an additional judge in Gujarat high court in March 2004.
