High Court dismisses SI’s petition

Justice G. Bhavani Prasad of the High Court on Monday dismissed the petition filed by Ranganath Goud, Sub-Inspector of Ponnur town police station, in Guntur district, who is facing allegations of deceiving a woman, Sheikh Razia Sultana, after promising to marry her. The judge passed final orders in the petition filed by the SI. The petitioner prayed the court to quash the case registered against him based on a complaint lodged by Ms. Sultana. She had alleged that he promised to marry her but later refused to do so. After the issue was taken up by higher authorities, Mr Goud filed the present petition based on which the High Court, in an interim order, stayed his arrest till Monday.
