Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, who is facing allegations about acquisition of properties by him, attended the court today.
Justice Dinakaran attended 21 cases, including Doctors, who have submitted their resignation en masse to the State Government demanding fulfillment of their demands or relieve them of duties.
A suo moto petition was filed against this stating that the resignation of Doctors would affect people and the government should ensure medical facility to the people.
However, counsel, arguing on behalf of Doctors said the medicos were not on agitation but only submitted their resignation. They were performing their duties and teams were sent to attend people affected in floods in North Karnataka.
The doctors have decided to contribute their one day salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the counsel informed the court.
Since Doctors were not agitating and the issue of resignation is with the Government, Justice Dinakaran dismissed the petition.
Meanwhile, some members of the Bar Association which had passed a resolution on September 17 to the effect that Justice Dinakaran should not attend the court till the allegations against him were cleared, raised objection with Association President K M Puttegowda.
After heated discussion for some time it was decided to convene a meeting on October 7 to discuss the issue.
